Gatcha Gatcha Machines and Green Tea Naan

I saw 2 interesting things in Akihabara (the electronics district) today. Both of them were in Yodobashi Camera, a giant electronics emporium, which also sells books, souvenirs, toys, and other things. It also has an entire floor of restaurants. First, I saw rows and rows of Gatcha Gatcha machines. These are machines that sell little toys in capsules. They have some of these machines in the US now too, but they’re much more common in Japan. Still, I’d never seen so many all in one place. They must have had almost every possible kind.

The other interesting thing I found today was some Japanese-ized Indian food. Indian food is one of my favorites, so naturally, I had to try it. My friend and I split a “Lady’s Set” (naan, curry, rice, and chicken salad) and a dessert (green tea naan with red bean ice cream).

This was our dessert. The green tea naan didn’t really taste like green tea or anything else, but it was still good. I thought the naan at this restaurant was quite delicious.
