Rainy Day Discount

Filed under: seikatsu — myyearinjapan @ 1:58 am

Walking around Tokyo on a rainy day, I found a place I could go to for a discounted meal. I’ve heard it’s not uncommon for restaurants here to offer discounts based on the weather, for times when people are less likely to go to restaurants.

It says, To show our gradtitude [for coming to our restaurant], every thing costs 1000 yen on rainy days!

It says, "To show our gratitude (for coming to our restaurant), every thing costs 1000 yen on rainy days!" (That's roughly 10 USD per menu item.)

A look at their menu.

A look at their menu. The prices are usually 1,100 or 1,200 yen, so it's a 100 or 200 yen discount. Each lunch comes with salad, kimchi, side dish (which probably means pickled vegetables), soup and one drink. And you can get as much rice as you want.
