Suzhou

Filed under: abroad, Trips — myyearinjapan @ 12:12 am

In addition to taking a day trip to Hangzhou, I also spent a day in Suzhou during my trip to Shanghai. Suzhou is famous for it’s many beautiful gardens and the canals along it’s rivers and I wish I could have spent more time in the city because it looked like a nice town to stroll around in. While there, I visited the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Master of the Net’s Garden and took a boat ride to see the canals.

Before the cultural revolution, this river was lined with the houses or rich families. Now most of those houses have become river side restaurants.
