Climbing Mt Misen

The highest peak of Miyajima island is Mt Misen. It goes to an elevation of 535m (1,755 ft). It’s no Mt. Fuji, but it’s still a bit of a trek and a nice way to see some greenery on the island. When I visited the island, I climbed to the top and, being short on time, took the cable car down.

Sunlight through the trees.

stone staircase

The path is a stone staircase. If you want something off the beaten path, this is not it.

near the top

Near the top. See that deer? They're all over the island!

mountain top

At the top of the climb, you are rewarded with a spectacular view. More of these pictures in my next post.
